Weekend Family Events - December 1 and December 2
Does everyone have their fragie-lay fishnet stocking lamps ready? Excellent. That means that you are all ready for the season. It has clearly begun. This weekend there are so many fun filled holiday events like tree lighting ceremonies, stories and parties for Hanukkah, Chanukah, Hanuka (however you spell it, they'll be some fun involved!) and all around holiday cheer. Get out there quick before NYC becomes crippled by traffic and lollygaggers who don't walk fast and don't let us get to a Starbucks quick enough. New Yorker's need to be caffeinated every block other wise we will wither away. Get your warm drinks ready and then head out for some holiday season fun. Here are this weekend's picks.

Thanksgiving Weekend Family Events - November 22 - November 25
Thanksgiving weekend has something for everyone. Massive shopping. Tons of TV and football. The weekend that kicks off the holiday season. And let us not forget the food, glorious food. Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks, spending time with friends and family and getting in the holiday spirit and having fun. There are lots of fun things to do for this long weekend in NYC. So please check out our picks below and don't worry there are free things to do as well so you don't get your money "gobbled" up. If you liked that corny joke, here are some more!

What kind of music did the Pilgrims like? Plymouth Rock. Which side of the turkey has the most feathers? The outside. I'm excited about Thanksgiving because I love unwelcome parenting advice from relatives I see twice a year. Thanksgiving is great because people tend to speak less when food is lodged in their mouths. They should change the name of Thanksgiving to something more fitting like say, Turkeypocolypse or Stuffing-cide. And on that note, we here at igokids hope you all thoroughly enjoy all of the things you're thankful for this weekend.

The New York Botanical Garden is kicking off their annual holiday train show which is definitely a family fun activity that everyone can enjoy. And don't forget to get your tutu on and learn all about the true spirit of the holidays from Angelina Ballerina and friends. So get up and get moving before it's sofa city for us all. Here are this weekend picks.

Weekend Family Events - November 10 and November 11
Things are back to normal for some, still so hard for others and unthinkable and unimaginable for even more people. There are some lovely events that help raise money with Sandy relief efforts and other charitable causes this weekend. This weekend we also raise awareness in thanking the veterans and honoring them for their service. With the passing of the election of this week it's nice to think of everyone banding together to do what's right for our country, cities, towns, streets and even the corner fruit stand guys. Let's all be sure to thank someone, help someone and try to make the world a little bit better and happier for all. In the meantime, here are our weekend picks.
