Lighting Strikes Twice! Brooklyn Bolts Football Returns For a Second Season  
Last fall, local sports fans were treated to the first season of semi-pro football in New York City. The Brooklyn Bolts went an impressive 4-0 and featured players who went on to join the rosters of many NFL teams. The Bolts kick off their second season on October 2nd at MCU Park in Coney Island.

The Week Ahead: September 28 - October 4  
Scents of apples and pumpkins are in the air. And that means Halloween will creep up in front of you just before you know it. But before the ghosts and ghouls come out to play, there are lots of theatrical events to enjoy around NYC. This week, we’re returning to the New Victory Theater and Symphony Space. Both venues are back for the Fall season with a new lineup of kid-friendly shows. In addition to stage plays and comedies, we’ll also enjoy the Fall for Dance festival. Here is the week ahead.

Weekend Family Events - September 26 and September 27  
Hope the Pope and the POTUS like food because NYC is serving up quite a lot of it this weekend. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is hosting the Chile Pepper Festival on Saturday. The NYC Dumpling Festival takes place also on Saturday in the Lower East Side. Festa D'Italia is taking place all weekend long in Staten Island featuring not only food and entertainment but an exotic Italian car and motorbike show. Also taking place on Saturday, at the Brooklyn Bridge Park is the Autumn Moon Festival featuring the reaping of rice and wheat with traditional food and entertainment to celebrate the harvest. On Sunday Lefferts Historic House is also celebrating the harvest and harvesting, cooking and eating potatoes from their garden. Here are this weekend's picks.

In the blink of an eye, September has seemingly come and gone. This is the last full week of the month, giving you more reason than ever to check out some of the seasonal events going on this week in NYC. Weekend Family Events - September 19 and September 20  
This weekend is packed with Fall fun. The Queens County Farm Museum is hosting its 32nd Annual Queens County Fair complete with pie eating contests and their amazing maize maze! Staten Island is having a big ole' party this weekend celebrating the grand opening of Staten Island Museum at Snug Harbor. The festival is full of art, science, and history celebrating all things Staten Island. Also taking place at this festival is the Autumn Moon Festival featuring many family fun activities including arts and crafts and a performance by Elena Moon Park & Friends. The Bronx Zoo is having a harvest festival weekend, the 92nd Street Y is having their annual street festival filled with performances, games and more on Sunday. And if that's not enough to do, you can head to Union Square also on Sunday to take home a cute and cuddly new pet at Adoptapalooza! Or head to Brooklyn to adopt a grandparent! Weekend Family Events - September 12 and September 13  
School has started, and we've all been busy bees getting ready for another fun school year ahead. Let's keep things are buzzing all weekend long. Speaking of bees...the annual NYC Honey Fest is back on Saturday in Rockaway Beach Queens. There's plenty of kids activities, food, music fun and of course honey! The 89th Feast of San Gennaro is also happening again in Little Italy all weekend long, and also on Monday for those who need a fun activity because school is closed. The feast features food, live performances and plenty of yummy cannolis! Little Swappies is hosting a Back-to-School swap. Join the fun to exchange your children's outgrown yet like-new goods with other families at the fun kids, clothing, book, and toy exchange. The Week Ahead: September 7 - September 13  
With another Labor Day in the books, the school season is officially underway for all students. Don’t fret. This week is especially sweet. It’s Honey Week in NYC. It’s a great time to get together with other families and check out some of the delicious tastings around the city. We’re also joining Elmo and meeting one of Grover’s friend’s from oversees in a special Sesame Street live show. Over in Times Square, Broadway fans will wave goodbye to Mamma Mia. Weekend Family Events - Labor Day Weekend 2015  
Back to school time is finally upon us. Hopefully all of the school supplies, clothing shopping, organizing, and school preparation is (finally?) completed giving us an extra long weekend to enjoy the last licks of summer. The NYC Unicycle Festival rolls into Governors Island this Saturday and Sunday. The Richmond County Fair is happening the entire long weekend in Staten Island. The 22nd Annual Great North River Tugboat Race and Competition is happening as well this Sunday. There are also many cultural celebrations like Brazilian Day, and the West Indian American Day Carnival Celebrations and parades. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend and send summer out with a bang!
