This weekend is filled with lots of fun parties and events. A bunch of the events are focused around Purim, which can be thought of as the Jewish Halloween. This holiday lets everyone get dressed up in costumes, play fun games, eat treats and make lots of noise. Speaking of costumes and fun there's also a new ballet, a gymnastics competition and a superhero drawing workshop this weekend. So bring your tutu, your leotard and your utility belt and enjoy this weekend's picks.

The fun continues through this weekend at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. The museum's Kid's Week is offering fun-filled entertainment the whole family can enjoy. You and your kids can participate in hands-on activities, including performances, games, cool demonstrations and more. This weekend is focusing on sports and games. A highlight for this weekend is SportsZone which features a NY Jets obstacle course, NY Knicks dribbling and skills practice and NY Rangers hockey tournaments. The events take place on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. All weekend events are free with museum admission.

The Irish Arts Center in Midtown West has the outrageously entertaining size2shoes performing Silly Stocking Stories and Songs. Owen and Moley O Suilleabhain, two brothers from Ireland, are singers with a rich musical heritage. They have performed with Russell Crowe, Sinead O' Connor, The Chieftains, Bobby McFerrin and more. This show is an entertaining and interactive concert that mixes up songs from Irish Sean-nos to modern Irish rap and human beat boxing with guitar, tight vocal harmonies, and audience participation. size2shoes is known as a playful and intelligent musical act, where their family show is both a treat for parents and kids alike. The show takes place on Saturday at 11:00AM. The cost is $15 per person.

New York Theatre Ballet is proudly debuting an exciting new production, Bark! In The Park. Chase Brock of Broadway’s hit Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark choreographed this new work. This enchanting adventure follows two children on a search through Central Park to find their beloved lost dog. Bark! is paired with the perennial favorite Russian folk tale, The Firebird. The show is located at the Florence Gould Hall Theater inside the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF). The new ballet has performances on Saturday and Sunday at 1:00PM and on Sunday with additional shows at 11:00AM and 3:30PM. Tickets range from $35 to $45.

Music fun for all will take place at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music this Saturday. They are offering an afternoon of great music, dance and fun in support of BCM's Music Therapy Program. The Music Therapy Program at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music currently serves more than 900 children and adults with special needs through both their onsite and offsite outreach programs. You can dance and sing and help some people while doing so. The event takes place on Saturday at 11:00AM. There is a suggested donation of $20 per family.

It's a bird, It's a plane. It's superhero drawing time. At Poe Park in the Bronx there is a drawing workshop where teens will get to experience drawing from live model. A variety of costumes will be incorporated with the live model. Teens will get a hands on lesson on the human anatomy, drawing dynamic wrinkles and drawing in proportion. Also at the park is Living in Sequence a comic book exhibition celebrating the birth of comics which took place in Poe Park, specifically Batman, Robin and the Joker were created on a bench in the park. This drawing workshop event takes place on Saturday from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. It is free for all to attend.

You and your family are welcome to join the SAJ (Society for the Advancement of Judaism) for Purim fun for all. The festivities begin with their annual Purim Carnival from 4:45PM to 6:00PM, followed by pizza dinner for carnival goers. Then, a Family Friendly Purim Schpiel/Megillah Reading begins at 6:30PM. This event takes place on Saturday from 4:45PM to 7:00PM and is free for all to enjoy.

Park Slope will be celebrating Purim this weekend at the Congregation of B'nai Jacob. They are offering fun for the whole family. Get dressed up and bring some friends along and you can all enjoy live games and entertainment for kids & adults, buffet holiday food, music and dancing and prizes for the masquerade winners. They will also have a live magic show. The event takes place on Saturday at 7:00PM and is free admission for all.

Come and join the mini olympics taking place in Brooklyn. If you have a child interested in gymnastics or just enjoy the sport you can join the fun of watching the 1st Annual Artistic Gymnastics Competition at the Aviator Sports and Recreation Center. Levels 4 through 7 will be participating. You can watch and cheer for the vault, floor exercises, uneven bars and balance beam performances. The event takes place this Sunday from 9:00AM to 2:00PM. The cost is $5 per person.

Help celebrate Black History Month with a heartwarming show at the McGinn Cazale Theatre. Show Way tells the story of seven generations of women who pass quilts, or "show ways," from daughter to daughter. As these quilts pass - from slaves who sewed paths to freedom, to civil rights marchers, to a writer in modern-day New York, to a young girl who is eager to hear each generation's stories of bravery and courage. The women reconnect with the past and look with hope toward the future. The show takes place on Saturday and Sunday at 11:00AM and 1:00PM. Tickets cost between $25 and $30.

The Congregation Beth Elohim in Park Slope invites you to join them for Purim fun. They are having a preschool Purim carnival complete with games, a bouncy house and noisemakers (graggers) for all, dressing up is encouraged! There will also be a Purim family circus. You and the kids can learn to juggle scarfs, test your balance and clown around with artists from The New Victory Theater. you can also Hula hoop with Miss Saturn and enjoy an inflatable slide. Food will be available at additional cost. Advance tickets are suggested. The event takes place on Sunday from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. The cost is $5 per person for online tickets, $8 per person at the door and Kids under 2 are free.

If you like having tons of fun with friends and family then the Sutton Place Synagogue Purim Carnival is the place to be. There will be carnival games, bouncy houses, tons of food and craft projects galore! Dressing up in costumes is welcomed and encouraged. Bring friends and head over to this super fun Purim party. The event takes place on Sunday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. The cost is $30 per family.

Got some fresh dance moves to show off? Then head over to the awesome family dance party hosted by Little Club Heads. Their dance party at the Broad Street Ballroom allows you to get your groove on with the entire family as their top DJs spin some hot beats. Little Club Heads features lots of dancing (of course), face painters, clowns, cartoon characters, balloon twisters, games and special performances. The fun takes place this Sunday from 12:00PM to 3:00PM. The cost is $15 a Family 4 Pass is $40.

Jumpin’ Juniper hosts an interactive hour of story, song, film, or dance. This week's showcase is Mil's Trills. Mil's Trills is an exciting performance for grown-ups and children alike. Led by Amelia Robinson who plays original, quirky and whimsical songs on her electric ukulele there's sure to be fun for all. Located at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX) the hour-long performance starts at 11:00AM. There is also a well-equipped play room in conjunction with the performance. Children and caregivers are free to take a break and return to the show at any time. The Playspace and Box Office open at 10:30AM. The Playspace then remains open until 1:00PM. The show takes place on Sunday at 11:00AM. The cost is $8, and children under 2 are Free.

The Dirty Sock Funtime Band is performing family fun during Purim at the Jewish Museum. You can enjoy carnival-like klezmer rock sounds while dancing in costume to ClownaHagila and other sock-a-delic favorites. The show starts at 2:00PM. Before the show from 10:30AM to 12:30PM the kids can create a sculptural mask using every shiny and sparkly texture available. Then they can parade around in their creation and spread the joy of the holiday. The fun takes place this Sunday starting at 10:30AM. The concert event costs $18 for adults; $13 for children, JM Family Member Prices are $15 for adults and $11 children.
