So tell us truthfully, how many times have you written or said 2015 this week? Well there's nothing like a fun weekend to help you forget your mistakes from the past week. The Big Apple Circus is ending its run at Lincoln Center with shows all weekend long. All aboard with the Thomas & Friends show at the New York Botanical Garden also taking place all weekend long. The Pop Ups will be performing at Symphony Space on Saturday. Galli Theater is performing Snow White on Saturday and Sunday and Puppetworks is performing Goldilocks and the Three Bears also on Saturday and Sunday. Circus fun, trains, puppets and performances - looks like 2016 is off to a great start. Here are this weekend's picks.

Camels and Kings: A Gift Giving Workshop
Children and their families gather to explore the story surrounding the famous journey of the three wise men, celebrated around the world. The two-hour workshop begins with a story and then children make gift boxes, costumes and sparkling crowns. Recommended for children ages 4 – 8 years old. Taking place on Saturday from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. The cost is $10 per child, with accompanying adult. Check into the Visitor Center upon arrival.

Passport to Fun Event
The Learning Experience's Passport to Fun grand opening event event includes: touring countries and cultures from around the world. Children will get little Passports that they will take to get stamped as they go from country to country (room to room) and learn about the culture, food, music and more. There will be arts and crafts inspired from locals of various countries. Food sampling from around the world. An appearance by "Bubbles the Elephant" face painting and more. Taking place at The Learning Experience on Saturday from 10:00AM to 1:00PM. This event is free to enjoy.

Big Apple Circus Presents The Grand Tour
The Grand Tour is a circus extravaganza set in the 1920s and featuring acts from the four corners of the globe. Ships, trains, automobiles, and airplanes will serve as the backdrop for breathtaking acts of wonder, accompanied by the seven-piece Big Apple Circus Band playing live. Acts will include clowns, jugglers, acrobats, and aerialists, from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America, as well as domestic and rescue animals, all creating performances that will leave audiences smiling and cheering. The show takes place on Saturday at 11:00AM, 3:00PM and 6:30 and on Sunday at 12:30PM and 4:30PM. Tickets from $25 - $150.

The Pop Ups
The Pop Ups are a two-time Grammy nominated children's musical duo based in Brooklyn. Their performances use cardboard props, hand-painted sets, and a cast of original puppets. They made their television debut on Sprout's Sunny Side Up Show in 2014, and recently released their third album, Appetite For Construction. to critical acclaim. The show is taking place at Symphony Space on Saturday at 11:00AM and 2:00PM. Tickets cost $15 and $13 for members.

Penguins Are Cool!
Did you know that penguins lost the ability to fly millions of years ago, but their powerful flippers and streamlined bodies make them very accomplished swimmers? If you enjoyed that fact then there are plenty more to come at this event. You can learn about penguins, then make a pom-pom penguin craft. Afterwards join in for a popular penguin movie starting at 12:30PM. This event is appropriate for ages 4-8 with chaperon. Taking place at the Greenbelt Nature Center on Saturday starting at 11:00AM. The cost is $5 for non members and $3 for conservancy members.

Theatreworks USA presents: Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School
Now that JUNIE B. JONES has been going to school for over one-and-a-half years, who better to write the book on EVERYTHING you need to know? From bus rules to band-aids, carpools to cookies, Junie B. and friends deliver the definitive word on surviving and thriving in style. With a jillion tips, tricks and trip-ups, Junie B. shares her hard-won expertise and shows us all how school is sometimes scary, sometimes super-fun, and ALWAYS something to sing about! An all-new musical adventure based on Barbara Park's popular book. Taking place at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College on Saturday at 11:00AM Tickets cost $25.

2016 ACT Winter Family Festival
Children of all ages will enjoy games and entertainment, from huge inflatable rides and GaGa Ball to giveaways and crafts. Parents have the opportunity to take a tour and enroll in Summer Camp or 2016-17 Preschool, Nursery, Toddler programs. Summer Camp families can catch up and recall favorite memories with the 2015 Camp Slideshow. This year, you will get up close and personal with chinchillas, treefrogs, and more with Jason and the traveling Green Meadows Farm! Taking place at ACT at the Cathedral (Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine) on Saturday from 12:00PM to 4:00PM. This event is free to enjoy.

Snow White
Snow White is a young woman whose stepmother is jealous of her beauty. When the magical mirror on the wall says that Snow White is the “fairest of them all,” the stepmother makes a plan to get Snow White out of the castle and out of her life forever! Appropriate for children ages 5 and up, the show is filled with music and song delighting audiences young and old. As with all of Galli Theaters show, Snow White is interactive, giving the young audience a chance to help the characters and actively participate in the performance. There is also an after show workshop. In this 40 minute workshop your children will participate in warm up and drama games with one of our actors. They will then get to put on their own version of the show they have just seen! Taking place at the Galli Fairytale Theater on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00PM. Adult tickets cost $20, children tickets cost $15. Adult./children ticket combo costs $35. The after show workshop costs $15 per child and $10 for siblings.

All Aboard With Thomas & Friends
Join Thomas and Driver Sam on a fun-filled, sing-along, mini-performance adventure by helping them decorate the station in time for the big Sodor surprise party before the guest of honor arrives! Make sure to have a professional photo taken with Thomas to capture the special day! Seating is first-come, first-served, and begins 30 minutes prior to your show time. Admission to the Thomas & Friends performance is included with the purchase of select Holiday Train Show tickets; specific timed tickets must be reserved. Taking place on Saturday and Sunday at the New York Botanical Garden. Show times are on Saturday and Sunday at 9:00AM (members only) 11:00AM, 1:30PM, 3:30PM and 5:30PM. The cost is $25 for adults, seniors and students cost $22, children ages 2-12 cost $10 children under 2 and members are free.

Broadway Playhouse: Richard Adler & Jerry Ross
Broadway Playhouse introduces kids to classic Broadway musicals. This weekend kids can learn about one of the great songwriting duos of the 1950s, Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. They hit Broadway big time with three wildly successful shows in three years: Damn Yankees, The Pajama Game and John Murray Anderson’s Almanac. Their partnership was cut short when Adler died tragically in 1955 at the age of 29, but their shows have lived on in film adaptations as well as numerous revivals. Come visit the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory, where Love is on strike, and find out if “Whatever Lola Wants Lola Gets.” This event is appropriate for ages 4-11. Taking place at the Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center on Sunday at 11:00AM. The cost is $20.

Tinker It Sundays
Everyone can build, explore and create together at this free family tinkering workshop at the New York Hall of Science. Tinker It happens on Sunday from 1:30PM to 3:00PM and again at 3:30PM to 5:00PM. This event is recommended for ages 5 and older. In addition to NYSCI admission, this event costs $2 per adult/child pair. Members are free, but a ticket is required.

Goldilocks & the 3 Bears
Puppetworks is retelling the classic tale of Goldilocks & the 3 Bears. Robert Southey's beloved Folk-Tale from 1837 is adapted for Hand Puppets by Jack Kaplan. The show is taking place on Saturday and Sunday at 12:30PM and 2:30PM at Puppetworks, Inc. The show is suggested for ages 3 and up. Admission for a child is $9, adult admission costs $10. Please note credit cards are not accepted and reservations are suggested.
